国際トライアスロン連合（ITU）が数年前から世界選手権（51.5km）、ワールドカップで適用している「前あきユニフォーム禁止：前面部ジッパー禁止（以下、同ルール）」について、猶予期間を経て本格的な施行が始まります。（※）
同ルールの適用はスタンダードディスタンス（51.5キロ：通称“オリンピックディスタンス”）以下の距離に適用されるもので、ロングディスタンスではいすれの部門においても適用されません。
[１] エリート部門
１）WTS（ワールドトライアスロンシリーズ）、WC（ワールドカップ）、コンチネンタルカップ、世界選手権、大陸別選手権などのエリート部門（ロングディスタンス部門を除く）では、2012年6月のキッツビュールWTS大会から同ルールが適用される。なお、前面部のジッパーは取り外さなければならない。
２）2012年の国内大会エリート部門（ジャパンカップ、日本選手権）においても同ルールを適用する。2013年からは、エリート部門（U23、ジュニア含む）において同ルールを完全適用する。
[２] エイジグループ部門
１）ITU世界選手権・WTS・大陸別選手権のエイジグループ部門（ロングディスタンスを除く）では、同ルールが適用されるが、2012年は、開かないようにすること（軽い縫い付け可）により使用を認める。2012年のJTU国内大会エイジ・リレー部門では、同ルールを適用しない。
２）2013年から、ITU管轄大会及びJTU国内大会のエイジグループ部門・リレー部門において、同ルールを適用する。ただし、大会により特例を設けることがあり、大会事務局の情報を確認すること。
[３] 岐阜国体での適用
１）岐阜国体トライアスロン公開競技では、前面ジッパーが開かないようにすること（軽い縫い付け可）により使用を認める。
[４] 対応策
１）同ルールの情報を加盟団体に回覧し、JTUウエッブサイトに掲載する。なお、同ルールに係る加工修正の外部委託は、JTU公式サプライヤーのスポーツアシスト（Tel：042-766-6795）が現時点において対応可。

2.7. Uniform.
a.) All athletes competing in ITU events are required to wear their NF uniform conforming to the ITU Uniform Rules (see Appendix F).
b.) Athletes must follow the following rules with respect to wearing uniforms
(i) Athletes must wear the uniform during the entire competition and award ceremony.
(ii) The uniform must cover the whole torso in the front. The back may be uncovered from the waist up.
(iii) Arms, below the shoulders must be uncovered. The TD may authorize this area to be covered based on the weather conditions. Wetsuits, when authorized, may cover the arms but not the hands. This paragraph doesn’t apply to Winter Triathlon events.
(iv) A one piece uniform is preferred. If a two piece uniform is used, the space between the top and the bottom may be not visible, so the two pieces overlap.
The athlete must cover the torso during the entire race.
(v) Zippers must be on the back and will be a maximum of 30 cm long. Front zippers are not allowed. This paragraph do not apply to Long Distance events.
(vi) The uniform must be worn over both shoulders for the duration of the competition.
(vii) Elite, U23 and Junior athletes must wear the same uniform from the start to the finish, in events of standard distance or shorter.
(viii) Rain jackets are allowed when the TD authorizes it. Rain jackets must be the same design and color as the uniform or transparent.
(ix) Long sleeves and long pants are allowed for the award ceremony.
(x) Failure to comply with the ITU Competition Rules related to uniform may result in an athlete having to wear a triathlon suit supplied by ITU or covering any logos on the uniform not allowed by the Rules.
